Board of Directors and partners

Marianne Simard

Marianne Simard

Administrator, Human Capital Advisor at Agropur

I have been involved with ACEFSOM since June 2017 and chair of the board since January 2021. I am motivated by a desire to contribute my HR expertise to a NPO with a mission that matters to me and that has a direct impact in my neighbourhood, where I have lived since 2014. Advocating for consumers’ rights to the essentials of life in a capitalism- and consumption-based society is a mission I can get behind, which is why I got involved in ACEFSOM’s Board of Directors.

Administrator and Vice Principal at a CSMB Primary School
Having worked in education for more than 25 years, as a teacher and in administration, I am committed to helping my community. In recent years, in addition to my work in schools, I became involved in early childhood round tables in the south sector of Montreal (Verdun, LaSalle and Lachine). My involvement in the ACEFSOM Board of Directors is a logical next step in my social involvement that affects other areas of community life.

Adama Kaba

Administrator, Consultant and Researcher, Pedagogical Design in Social Justice and Anti-Racism

For over 15 years, I have been developing and facilitating training programs in social justice and anti-racist pedagogy within various formal and community educational spaces in Canada and abroad. My personal and professional experiences have led me to understand the importance of access to financial literacy in the fight for social justice. Having benefited from training workshops and support from ACEFSOM, it was important for me to contribute in turn to this fundamental struggle.

It goes without saying that financial education and consumer protection are key themes when you have the development of your fellow citizens at heart.

Being passionate about the history of Montrealers, I am happy to be able to contribute to the well-being of such a vibrant and resilient community.

My background combines entrepreneurship in the aesthetic-cosmetic industry, community involvement in the trade union field as well as experience in the private sector, more specifically in the financial field. So, let’s go Montreal!

Thanks to the tools and means deployed by ACEFSOM, success is at the end of the road.
