As the first point of contact for people reaching out to ACEFSOM, I care deeply about offering a warm welcome. I like to listen to and support others; it truly makes me happy to see people regain control over their lives! ACEFSOM and I have shared values and favour an empowerment-based approach. My empathetic listening and my patience make me well suited to support people. As an intake administrator for more than 30 years, I feel I am where I am meant to be.

I work in the community sector first and foremost because of my values. Even after 20 years at ACEF, I am constantly learning in my role as budget advisor. I work directly with people to tackle the root causes of problems and find the best solutions. I work WITH people; I don’t impose my perspective on them. I accept people as they are, without judgment. I’m patient so that people can progress at their own pace, and I earn people’s trust through my human touch. I provide assistance to people in need by offering them tools, in an organization working to change the world for the better!

With more than 30 years’ experience in NPO management, I have been the Coordinator at ACEFSOM since 2009. My role is to make sure that each employee offers the services and tools that best meet the needs of the citizens they’re assisting. After exploring various environments — private, public and community — I decided to work for an organization largely because they address the lack of activities and services for the most vulnerable people. At our ACEF, I like how each employee participates in the development of the organization and that each person is a stakeholder in it. We can truly make a difference.

With our dedicated and devoted team, I feel that we have a positive impact on the population of Southwest Montreal. I feel incredibly privileged to be part of ACEFSOM’s mission and excited to take on many beautiful challenges.
